Training - Spill Kit Handling
A safety first training course on the use of all spill kits is available to our customers.
This training meets all the Environmetnal Agency ISO14001 standard requirements and demonstrates the impact a spill can have on the local environment and water courses.
A practical demonstration is carried out using an on-site spill kit to show the attendees what is contained in the kit and in which order the components are to be used.
Emphasis is placed on the following rules:
- Identify the product that has been spilt and select appropriate PPC safety wear or seek help.
- Secure the entire spill area to reduce the risk of slip accidents.
- Cover any vulnerable drains and surround the spill with socks.
- Place cushions in the deeper part of teh pool created or under the source of the spill.
- place pads over the entire spill area.
- Let the absorbents work.
- Stem the flow of the leak when it is safe to do so.
- Place all used absorbents in bags provided and arrange for correct disposal.
- Report the incident.
- Refill the spill kit.
The course duration is 1 hour. We can provide 7 sessions in one day if required. It is recommended that no more than 15 delegates per session
